Three Highly-Regarded Golf Courses in Alberta

Jordan DeForest founded the Calgary, Alberta-based school lunch service startup Healthy Hunger in 2010 and has since leveraged his skills in marketing to expand its registered base to over 800 schools throughout Canada. When he isn't working, Jordan DeForest enjoys playing golf.

A diverse province with prairie and mountainous regions, Alberta is home to over 220 Alberta Golf Association clubs. Below are three of the most highly regarded.

1. Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge - Not only is Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge the highest-rated course in Alberta, it received distinction as the No. 1 public course in all of Canada by SCOREGolf Magazine in 2013. Set in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, it was designed by nationally-renowned golf course architect Stanley Thompson and opened for business in 1925.

2. Banff Springs - A restricted club with membership only available to 275 Bow Valley residents, Banff Springs is a scenic 18-hole course backed by a beautiful mountain range setting.

3. Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club - Calgary's Canyon Meadows officially opened for business on July 2, 1957 and has since become one of the city's most popular courses. It was renovated and modernized in 2005, which involved significant improvements to its bunkers and fairways and the addition of a new pump and irrigation system.
